About TribuSplit
TribuSplit is a free app that helps groups of friends, couples and families split trip expenses without doing the math or arguing about money.
Why it exists
Almost every group trip goes the same way: one person pays for the lodging, another for the car, another for dinners, and by the end nobody remembers who paid what. The math happens on a napkin or in a spreadsheet only its author understands, and money becomes an awkward topic.
TribuSplit was built to fix that: logging an expense takes seconds, everyone sees the same numbers, and at the end the app says who pays whom, with as few transfers as possible.
What it does
- Logs expenses in the destination's currency, or any other with its exchange rate.
- Splits each expense only among the people who took part.
- Lets you settle up mid-trip without counting anything twice at the end.
- Converts debts into the currency your group pays each other in.
- Shows everyone's payment alias to copy, and lets each payment be confirmed.
How it's funded
TribuSplit is free and supported by unobtrusive ads. It never moves money: it only calculates and keeps records. Everyone pays from their own bank or wallet. We don't sell personal data.
Our principles
- Minimal data. We only ask for what the app needs, and you can delete your account anytime from the app.
- Transparent numbers. Every member sees the same expenses, balances and payments.
- Your own decisions. Only you add your payment alias, and only you mark or confirm your payments.
Who we are
TribuSplit is an independent project built in Argentina, for travelers in Latin America and everywhere else.
Who writes the guides
TribuSplit and its guides are made by Valentin, from Buenos Aires, who leads development projects focused on user experience (UX).
The idea came from traveling: more than five group trips to the Argentine coast and Brazil, where remembering every expense and splitting day by day kept getting harder. With the app everything is logged on the spot, the math is instant, and the group decides whether to settle during the trip or at the end. Each trip's summary also becomes a starting point for planning the next one.
The guides draw on that experience and on the problems that come up most often when friends, couples and families split costs: what to log, how to split, which exchange rate to use and how to settle up without awkwardness. LinkedIn profile.
Each guide shows when it was last updated. If you spot something outdated or wrong, let us know and we'll fix it.
